10 Myths About Introverts
I generally find articles about introverts and the run-of-the-mill personality tests frustrating. Mostly because I see in myself characteristics that, depending on who you talk to, are attributed to introverts or extroverts. So I come away from these things wondering which side am I actually on. For the record, I’d say I’m an introvert who, when in “the zone”, thinks out loud, often in the form of song. A more extroverted tendency, but an introverted person.
This article is the best I’ve seen on really laying out some of what makes an introvert. An example, when addressing the myth that introverts always like to be alone, the author says:
Introverts are perfectly comfortable with their own thoughts. They think a lot. They daydream. They like to have problems to work on, puzzles to solve. But they can also get incredibly lonely if they don’t have anyone to share their discoveries with. They crave an authentic and sincere connection with ONE PERSON at a time.
Amen. The entire list is great.
