What’s in a Name?
Patrick Rhone shares a little of his family history and how he got his last name. I enjoyed the story, partly because I’ve always felt that the meaning of a name has a lot of weight.
I’m still here with the names I was given by my parents, but I’m happy with them. Christopher means Christ-bearer. Despite the fact that my parents are not followers of Christ, the fact that they chose that name for me is significant. The focus of meanings behind a name is a little lost in our culture, but it wasn’t always so. What’s in a name?
A lot.
